  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract

  • Preheat oven to 325
  • In a medium size bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  • Once the butter and sugar is mixed well, giving to a creamy mixture, add the egg and extracts. Mix until incorporated.
  • Slowly add the flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Once all the flour mixture is added, remove from the bowl and knead until you have a dough ball.
  • Use powdered sugar for rolling out the dough. Make sure it is only enough to prevent the dough from sticking.
  • After the cookies have been cookie cuttered, place on a parchment lined baking sheet. If you find that the dough has gotten too soft, you can place in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes before placing in oven.
  • Bake cookies for 7-10 minutes. Remove them from the oven before the edges get too brown. You don’t want to overbake these cookies!
