Morning Routine

Maintaining some sort of a routine during the summer is a must for us. We go with the flow during certain times of the day, but I want my kids to start the day motivated. Let me tell you, it is hard to get these kids up and out of bed. This is not only during the school year, but also during the summer. So how do I maintain that morning routine during the summer?

Routines at their best.

There is just something about having a routine in place. It doesn’t have to be a rigid one. Kids, especially younger ones, have a need for routines. Morning and bedtime routines are the most important routines we try and uphold, while letting the rest of the day play out with whatever comes our way. Having a schedule is much like having a security blanket. Kids know what to expect and when. With summer officially underway, we try and keep things fun with our schedules. Summertime is meant for fun, right?

Kids need some encouragement.

Encouragement is key to having a successful routine. With summertime being all about fun things for us, having a fun way to keep my kids encouraged in the mornings is a must! So how do I incorporate this ‘fun encouragement’ to our morning routine? A fun and delicious cereal for breakfast, of course!

NEW Drumstick for a breakfast win!

I know everyone has at least seen those yummy drumstick ice cream desserts in the freezer section. I can say that I have also eaten my fair share of them as well. We can now enjoy our summer breakfasts with the NEW Drumstick Cereals by General Mills at Walmart! You are hearing this right friends. General Mills has created a new cereal to be added to their delicious cereal lineup. What makes this even better for the summer is that NEW Drumstick Cereals can be purchased in store or online at Walmart. We all know how chaotic summer can be with kids home from school. So having that Walmart grocery pickup service has been such a win for me!

Fun breakfast planning with Drumstick Cereals.

What kid doesn’t love having fun? The NEW Drumstick Cereal is such a fun cereal that we have added to our breakfast cereal routine. They have a Classic Vanilla flavor as well as a Mint Chocolate flavor. Y’all, it is so yummy! It is a great mix of cone cereal pieces, ice cream flavored scoops, and cocoa nuggets. My kids have so much fun with this cereal, searching for all the different pieces in their cereal bowls. Great way to get those minds cranking early in the morning too with a search and find activity!

My kids even enjoy eating the Drumstick Cereals without milk. So if we are in a hurry to get to a swim practice one morning, we just pour some of the cereal in a plastic bag and go. Awesome and fun cereal for on-the-go!

When trying to maintain that morning routine during the summer, remember to keep it fun! It is the best way to having a successful routine. Don’t forget to purchase the best summer breakfast with NEW Drumstick Cereals by General Mills at Walmart. Hands-down the simplest way to get those kids up in the morning and ready to conquer the fun summer day!
