Bringing Home a Rescue Shelter Pet

Bringing Home a Rescue Shelter Pet
Spread the love

This post is sponsored by Adams Flea and Tick. All opinions are my own.

I can’t believe it was almost 4 years ago when we brought home Marbles, our cat from a local rescue shelter. She is now an important member of our family, and we will do all that we need to keep her happy and healthy.

Coming home from the rescue shelter.

It didn’t take long for Marbles to get her name. My daughter named her right away once she saw her tuxedo fur coat. We quickly went to gathering all the bedding, food supplies, and all those kitty toys. There was so much to think about when bringing Marbles home. She was already spayed and had her first set of shots. It was nice not to have to worry about all of that. This is just an added perk to adopting a rescue pet.

What all to expect when pet adopting.

When we adopted Marbles, there was some paper work involved. You have to fill out an application in order to adopt a pet. I believe this is a great thing because these pets deserve a better life than the one they were rescued from! As I mentioned above, you will want to have the essentials on hand: pet food appropriate for age, bedding, toys, a litter box for a cat, and Adams Flea and Tick products. What is even better is that you can purchase all of these items from Walmart!

An initial veterinarian visit should be done within the first few days of bringing home your pet to ensure all is well and to get any necessary boosters. Then plan to do lots and lots of snuggling.

Keeping those ticks and fleas at bay.

Needless to say, ticks and fleas will try their best to find their way onto your pets and into your home. This is especially true if you have a pet that loves to be indoors and outdoors, like Marbles. Marbles loves to have her time outside to venture around, but wants to come back indoors when she is done. I am thankful for products like Adams Flea and Tick that help keep Marbles and our family free of pests.

It doesn’t take much for your pet to be infected by fleas or ticks. Once they are, it can get out of control real quick. With all of us constantly playing with Marbles, that is the last thing that I want us all to worry about. Adams Flea and Tickproducts are not only safe for your pet, but also very effective compared to natural products. So what are our favorite Adams Flea and Tick products from Walmart?

Adams Plus Flea & Tick Foaming Shampoo Cat-Conditions is so easy to use which is a plus for a cat that doesn’t like baths. All you need to do is wet the fur a little, then apply the foaming shampoo. Massage into fur and then rinse off! Fresh and clean cat minus the flea and ticks.

Adams Flea & Tick Carpet & Home Spray is amazing in that it will not only kill fleas, ticks, roaches, ants, spiders, crickets, silverfish, and sowbugs but also one treatment protects up to 210 days! It definitely makes you feel good to know that your family will be guarded from all of these pests. You apply it to upholstery, drapes, carpet, rugs and other furniture.

Adams Flea & Tick Spray is a direct spray for your cat that kills adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae and ticks. It will break the flea life cycle for up to 2 months.

You can purchase these from your local Walmart or at Walmart.com. Don’t you just love it when things are this convenient? Marbles definitely does!

Adopting that pet for the family.

Bringing home Marbles was one of the most exciting things for our family. The kids were so excited and all still have such a love for Marbles. She is definitely a member of our family, and we are going to try our very best to take the best care of her. If you are contemplating adopting a rescue pet, think about all the needs, wants, and essentials that pet will require. When you know that you can fulfill all of those, then make a point to visit your local pet rescue shelter. It will be an amazing life changing decision, and our family can promise you that!
